Brookelyn picked up the guitar in
1997 after a pop/rock band in which
she was the lead singer broke up.
She then emerged as a solo artist
and began crafting pop/folk songs
and has been performing ever
since.  Brookelyn released a solo
album (Dance With Me) in 2002 and

Adventurous. Fun-loving. Down to earth. That's Brookelyn in a nutshell. This
Alaskan is just an ordinary gal who happens to be an author, singer/songwriter, and
filmmaker. To keep her securely grounded in reality, she also lives without running
water, has a desire to own chickens, and occasionally suffers from lock jaw. She
also pens an underground advice column called
"Dear Crazy Lady". Ordinary gal.

Brookelyn's book
The Frozen Toe Guide to Real Alaskan Livin': Learn how to
Survive Moose Attacks, Endless Winters, and Life Without Indoor Plumbing
is an
Amazon.com top ten best seller in the Alaska category. It has garnered no less than
a 5-star rating to date. Check your local bookstore or order it at

In 2008, Brookelyn ran extreme race Mount Marathon in Seward, Alaska and filmed
it as she went. This is Alaska's most infamous and potentially life-threatening foot
race up and down 3,000+ ft. Mount Marathon and has been around for 83 years.
Besides filming her own race, she also followed the story of 71 year-old Jerre Wills
of Homer as he tried to repeat his record-setting pace set in 2007- a pace which
earned him the title "Ultra Geezer Jock of the Year" from Masters Athlete magazine.

In other news, Brookelyn filmed a Bigfoot spoof comedy in April, 2008 in and around
her hometown and the mountains in the area. She also put together two films about
winter activities in Alaska that are available on one DVD. The first film is about the
annual Tired Iron Race held in Fairbanks on the Chena River in March. It is a race
for snowmobiles 1975 and older with entertaining results. The second film features
hearty Alaskans at play. Watch dog sledding, outhouse races, human bowling, the
fur and antler auction, ice slides and more. Order your DVD's

Brookelyn lives in Delta Junction, Alaska. Her writing has appeared in numerous
newspapers and in
Backpacker and Canoe & Kayak magazines.

The Mount Marathon Experience

Alaska’s favorite extreme mountain race comes to life in this documentary that explores the attraction of this legendary
race. Experience the race like you’ve never seen it before. Climb 3,022 feet with 71 year-old “Ultra Geezer Jock of the
Year” Jerre Wills of Homer, AK as he attempts to beat his record setting pace from the year before. Follow on the heels of
ordinary folk and elite athletes as they crawl up the 35-60 degree slope then fly down the other side at break-neck
speeds through rock, shale, snow and a creek. Enjoy the thrills from your armchair as racers endure 3.1 miles of torture
in what is the second oldest foot race in the country. Why do they do it? How do they do it?

This might just be the craziest race around. And that’s just how Alaskans like it.

The Mount Marathon Experience was broadcast on AlaskaOne
TV on July 1, 2010!
